South of Corno del Renon
The view of Corno del Renon (Rittner Horn in German) in South Tyrol is unobstructed by any surrounding higher peaks. It offers spectacular views of the Dolomites, on good days as far the Großglockner, Austria's Highest mountain. As the day faded and the light dimmed, I was staring down at the valleys below with my son dreaming of the warmer parts of Italy.
